KEC International, a global leader in power transmission EPC, has recently seen a significant surge in its stock price, rallying 9.47% to Rs 727.35. This comes on the back of the company securing new orders worth Rs 1,012 crore across various businesses.

Diversifying Business Portfolio

KEC’s civil business has won prestigious orders from new clients in the data centre and FMCG segments in India. These include building a data centre in Western India and setting up a manufacturing facility for a global FMCG major in Southern India.

The company’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business has also secured orders for T&D projects in India and the Americas. This includes a 765 kV transmission line project in India from an existing private client and supply of towers, hardware, and poles in the Americas.

Moreover, KEC’s cable business has secured orders for the supply of various types of cables both domestically and internationally.

A Word from the CEO

Vimal Kejriwal, MD & CEO of KEC International, expressed his satisfaction with the continuous inflow of orders, especially in their T&D and Civil businesses. He highlighted the diversification of their customer base with the addition of marquee clients. The prestigious order for building a Data centre reaffirms their confidence in the strong growth of this segment. He also mentioned that their Year-To-Date (YTD) order intake stands at a record level of over Rs 6,500 crore, marking a strong growth of 11% compared to last year.

Financial Performance

KEC International’s consolidated net profit jumped 36.5% to Rs 42.33 crore on a 27.9% increase in net sales to Rs 4,243.59 crore in Q1 FY24 over Q1 FY23. The company’s scrip hit an all-time high at Rs 739 in intraday trading recently.

Global Presence

KEC International operates power transmission and distribution, railways, civil and solar projects on an EPC basis. It also manufactures power and telecom cables. With a presence in over 70 countries and a strong foothold in India, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, the Americas, and Central Asia, KEC is truly a global player.
