Meet Tejas Sachin Kumar, the 8-year-old who aced the SEBI exam
If you think the SEBI exam is tough, think again. There is an 8-year-old boy who has cleared it with flying colors. Tejas Sachin Kumar, a class IV student of Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad, has created a record by being the youngest to pass the SEBI exam. The SEBI- Securities and Exchange Board of India’s NISM - National institute of Security Market conducts exams in derivatives and currency market.
Tejas scored 69.25 marks in the exam, which is well above the minimum pass mark of 60/100. People who complete B Com/MBA/CA clear this exam to get a job in investment bank where they deal with stock exchange matters. Tejas, however, did it out of sheer curiosity and passion for finance.
Tejas’s father, CA Praveen Kumar, who runs a business school called Planet Finance, said that his son developed an interest in finance when he was just four years old. He used to watch business news channels and ask questions about stocks, bonds and mutual funds. He also learned how to use Excel and do calculations.
Tejas said that he prepared for the exam by reading books and online materials on finance. He also took mock tests and solved previous year papers. He said that he found the exam easy and enjoyable. He added that he wants to learn more about finance and become a successful investor.
Tejas has broken the previous record held by 11-year-old Solanki from Mumbai who cleared the SEBI exam as the youngest aspirant1. He has also received appreciation from various quarters for his remarkable achievement.
Tejas is an inspiration for all those who aspire to clear the SEBI exam or pursue a career in finance. He has proved that age is no bar for learning and excellence. He has also shown that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.
