Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd secures four contracts worth 342.06 crore in Bahrain

Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd, a leading company in the field of marine engineering and dredging, has announced that it has secured four contracts worth 342.06 crore Indian Rupees (15.45 million Bahraini Dinar) in Bahrain. The contracts are for the supply and sale of dredged marine sand to various clients in the Middle East.

The company, which operates through its subsidiary Knowledge Dredging Co. W.L.L, India, established in Bahrain, has received four distinct letters of intent (LOI) from Haji Hasan Group, Bahrain; TCT Marine Contracting WLL, Bahrain; K7 Contracting WLL, Bahrain; and Alsalem Contracting, Bahrain. The contracts have a duration of five years and are expected to commence during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2023-2024.

The dredged marine sand will be used for various construction and infrastructure projects in Bahrain and other neighboring countries. The sand will be extracted from the seabed using the company’s own fleet of marine crafts and dredgers. The company claims that its sand mining operations are environmentally friendly and follow the best practices of sustainability.

Sujay Kewalramani, CEO of Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works, said that the company is delighted to enter the Middle East market and secure these lucrative contracts. He said that the company’s waste-to-revenue model has proven to be successful and has enhanced its business visibility. He also said that the company is looking forward to expanding its presence and services in the region.

Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works is a diversified company that offers multiple solutions of marine engineering including dredging at various ports, carrying out repair and refit services of naval and merchant ships, conducting hydrographic and magnetometer surveys, and technical solutions for maintenance and operations of vessels. The company is based in Mumbai, India, and has offices in Bahrain, Singapore and Sri Lanka. The company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
